Mangaluru: Minister Khader Goes the Extra Mile to Help Family of Ullal Woman who Died in Delhi

Mangaluru: As always is the case, minister of health and family welfare U T Khader has proved yet again that he is above religious and class discrimination.

Sumana Pai (60) from his Mangaluru-Ullal constituency, had gone with a group of 15 from the city led by Srikar Kini on a pilgrimage tour of Hardwar and other holy places in northern India

She is said to have fallen ill while reaching Delhi as the food and weather did not agree with her physical disposition. She was admitted to Sir Gangaram hospital in Rajinder Nagar in Delhi, where she reportedly breathed her last on May 24.

Her family members requested Khader to help them out with the formalities required in getting her autopsy done in Delhi and also to bring the mortal remains to the city.

He immediately had his acquaintances in Delhi to visit the hospital and facilitate the formalities without any delay or hassles.

Her family sources said that the mortal remains were brought to Ullal and the final rites were held here.

The family members have expressed their deep sense of gratitude to Khader for his timely gesture.
