Mangaluru: Theft of a huge amount of cash kept in the box of a scooter parked near the regional transport office in the heart of the city has been reported on Thursday.
Around 4 pm, Rajesh had handed Rs 20 lakh, received as proceeds of sale of a land belonging to his father, to the safe custody of his relative Raghunath, who does liaison work at the RTO.
Raghunath kept the amount in the compartment under the seat of his scooter and locked it. When, after work, he came to scooter around 6-30 pm, the compartment was found to have been broken open and the cash was missing.
It is suspected that someone was aware that the amount was being handed over, which was kept in the compartment of the scooter.
The police are investigating the case.

This Raghunath guy needs to be questioned by the police. That simpleton who handed over the money also may not be a simpleton after all.
