Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District SSF committee organized a Sunni Convention at Nehru Maidan here, on January 15. Prior to the convention, a Milad rally was held from Ambedkar Circle Jyothi to the venue.
The programme was inaugurated by member of the state WAKF board NKM Shafi Nandavar. Addressing the gathering, Shafi said that the SSF is following the teachings of the Prophet and it does not discriminate between anyone. “SSF is a strong organization and the members are working for the welfare of the community. In rural areas, there is no proper health care and education; people still suffer due to poverty. Terrorism and communal violence is increasing day-by-day. SSF is trying to solve the problems in the society.” He also called on the gathering to strive hard to bring harmony and peace in the society.
President of the Karnataka State Ulama, Habib said that Prophet Mohammed has given importance to humanity and equality. “We need to love the prophet and follow in his footsteps.”
State President of SYS, K P Hussain delivered the keynote address. SSF District President Ismail presided over the function.
MLA Moideen Bava, district president SYS Usman Pattori, State general Secretary of SSF K M Siddique Montugoli, KMJC district president Haider Partipadi, NS Karim, Abdul Hamid Bajpe, Abdul Hameed Madikeri and others were also present.
