Mangaluru to Witness Krishna Janmashtami Mosarukudike Celebrations on September 5; Traffic Diversions Announced

Mangaluru: Various Mosarukudike (Dahi Handi) celebrations and processions will be held across Mangaluru on September 5 as part of the Krishna Janmashtami festivities. Traffic congestion is likely on several major roads from 5 p.m. onwards.

In view of the celebrations, the Mangaluru City Police advised the public to use alternative routes wherever possible and refrain from parking vehicles on roads along the procession routes or on either side of the roads.

Thokkottu

In connection with the Mosarukudike celebration at Thokkottu Inlapete, traffic congestion is likely from the Thokkottu Junction on National Highway 66 to Kolya Junction, as well as around Ullal Abbakka Circle and Inlapete.

Vehicles travelling towards Talapady may turn onto the service road at Thokkottu Junction and proceed via Deralakatte Junction–Madyar–Madooru–Beerikote Kar Junction. Vehicles heading towards Ullal Abbakka Circle and Thokkottu Inlapete may use the Beerikote Kar–Someshwar route.

Kadri Kambla

Traffic congestion is expected from Battagudda Junction to Kadri Kambla–Bharath Beedi in connection with the Mosarukudike celebration at Kadri Kambla organised by Sri Gopalakrishna Mutt, Kadri.

Those travelling from Battagudda towards Kadri Kambla may take the Bikaj Junction–Pinto Bakery–Karangalpady route. Vehicles travelling from Bharath Beedi towards Battagudda may use the Mallikatta–Nanthoor route.

Attavar

Traffic congestion is likely from Koti Chennaya Circle through Babugudda–Attavar KMC Road to Ananda Shetty Circle due to the Mosarukudike celebration at the Sri Arasu Mundattaya grounds in Attavar.

Vehicles travelling from Koti Chennaya Circle towards Attavar may use the Valencia route. Vehicles travelling from Attavar towards Koti Chennaya Circle may turn left at Ananda Shetty Circle and proceed via S.L. Mathias Road–Highland Junction.

Kottara

In connection with the Mosarukudike celebration at Sri Krishna Jnanodaya Bhajana Mandir, Kottara, traffic congestion is likely from Kottara Chowki to Urwa Store Junction.

Vehicles travelling from Lalbagh/Narayanaguru Circle towards Kottara Chowki may use the KSRTC–Kuntikana route. Light motor vehicles travelling from Kottara Chowki towards Lalbagh may take the Kuntikana–Bijai–KSRTC route. Heavy vehicles have been advised to use the Kuntikana–KPT Circle route.

The Mangaluru City Police Commissioner has appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic regulation and diversion arrangements at the venues of the celebrations and along the procession routes.
