Mangaluru: Two arrested in Theft Cases

Mangaluru: DCP Shanthraj held a press meet at the Police Commissioner’s Office here, on July 14.

Addressing the mediapersons, DCP Shanthraj said that the South Police have arrested two persons in connection with theft cases.

The arrested have been identified as Altaf (23), a resident of Someshwar and Rajesh Prabhu (33) from Tannirbavi.

On July 14, Altaf and Rajesh were arrested by police from the South Police station. A knife, blade, mobile, silver bracelet and Bajaj Pulsar bike was seized from their possession. The police are searching for the third accused.

On July 6, at around 8 pm, when one, Radhakrishna was walking from the Service Bus Stand Road towards MESCOM at the Industrial area Baikampady, two miscreants assaulted him with sharp weapons, looted Rs 1,740 from him and fled. In this regard, a case was filed in the South Police Station. In another case, the trio had stolen a parked Pulsar bike from Bengre.

After receiving reliable information, the police arrested Altaf. Altaf and Rajesh are unemployed, they used to roam around the Service Bus Stand and Central Market where they were target individuals and looting them. Both of them are involved in various crimes under the jurisdiction of the South and North police stations.
