Mangaluru: Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha staged a protest at Pumpwell Circle by blocking the road here, on March 22.

Addressing the protesters, member of the Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Rajesh Poojary said that the entire state, including the parents and relatives of IAS Officer D K Ravi, is demanding the government to hand over Ravi’s death case to the CBI. “The Chief Minister neither listening to the cries of Ravi’s parents nor respecting the sentiments of 6 crore people of the state is delaying to hand over the case to the CBI. This clearly indicates that the Chief Minister is trying to protect the Home Minister. If the case will not be handed over to the CBI by March 25, we will intensify our protest and call for Mangaluru Bundh.”

Addressing the protesters, member of the Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Rohit said that the government is trying to twist the case by creating false stories about IAS officer D K Ravi and his relationship with a woman. “By creating false stories, the government is delaying to hand over the case to the CBI. It is a plan to defame the IAS officer and twist the case. The government is using delay tactics so that the people will forget the incident and the need to hand over the case to CBI would not arise. The Chief Minister should take a firm decision and hand over the case to the CBI,” he said.

State spokesperson of Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Dharmendra said, “Recently, we had come to know about the involvement of the Home Minister in D K Ravi’s case because of which the Chief Minister is hesitant to hand over the case to the CBI. If the case will not be handed over to the CBI, we will intensify our protest and in case of any untoward incidents taking place, the Chief Minister and the Home Minister are directly responsible,” he warned.
