Mattu, Amrith Shenoy and 3 others Booked for Violating Model Code of Conduct
Udupi: An FIR was registered on Tuesday, March 19 against the five persons including organizers of Sarva Janotsava conference for allegedly violating the model code of conduct while addressing the public.
Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency Flying Squad team – officer K V Nagaraj filed a complaint at the Udupi Town Police Station which stated that the team Sahabalve had organized Sarva Janothsava conference on March 17 at 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Royal Garden Kalsanka, Udupi under the leadership of Amrith Shenoy.
During the programme Thinker Dinesh Ameen Mattu, Social Activist Mahendra Kumar, G N Nagaraj, Journalist Indudhara Honnapura and programme organized Amrith Shenoy had violated the model code of conduct.
A case was registered and an FIR filed as per the directions of the chief of Flying Squad of the poll code enforcement for the Lok Sabha elections by the order of the Deputy Commissioner and District Electoral Officer.
The Town police have registered cases under sections 153A, 295A and 125 and investigations are on.
