 Medicos Craved for Music & CRAVE Bakes & Cakes, Mangaluru Sponsored ‘Battle of Bands’ to Enthrall Them at Adrenaline 2020, now going on at Father Muller Medical college, from 19-22 February 2020.

Mangaluru: It was once again that time of the year again. The Battle of the Bands took place on Thursday, 20 February 2020 as part of the ongoing Adrenaline 2020 Fest at Father Muller Medical college, Mangaluru, from 19-22 February 2020. Thirteen local and out of town bands all well prepared for this competition, gave their best to win the prizes. And the musicians did show their friends, family and the community just how hard they have been working, to unleash their talents and give their best performance.


Music is a great way for people to express themselves. The audience can get to know the band by listening to their music. Some groups may have played in similar conditions, but any time there is a big live crowd it would be worth playing at. Every band was confident that they would take home a big prize. Of course this is a friendly competition, but everybody wanted to win this competition. The winners got to take home attractive prizes.

Exposure is a part of playing in a band. Battle of the Bands is a way to get a band’s name out there and draw some interest. Playing for friends and family is not the only perk of performing in Battle of the Bands, the participants can see other bands perform live and learn a few things. “It’s not about winning the prize, it’s more about seeing where we stack up against everyone else and get our name out there a little bit,” said a lead singer of a medical college band. The winners in Battle of the Bands were presented with prizes by the the Managing Partners of Crave-Bakes & Cakes- Carl Correa and Michael Saldanha.

These Bands come from many different backgrounds. Each band had their own unique sound and style. These influences can be seen through these bands music. These influences come through emotions and feelings the band’s feels or maybe they just like the sound, these inspirations are all around us. Every band had their own style and the huge crowd of young and old loved it. These bands had been preparing for a while and were excited to give the event a show. This year’s competition lived up to the hype, now it is time for the bands to prepare for next year Adrenaline 2021.

At Father Muller Medical College, academic excellence is of utmost importance, but they also believe that cultural, literary, fine art and sports skills are absolutely essential for the holistic development of every student and wholesome college experience. So this year marking the new beginning of the decade they have organized Adrenaline, bigger and better. Adrenaline, the intercollegiate cultural and sports fest was introduced in 2015 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Father Muller Medical College. Over the last four years, Adrenaline has seen considerable growth and has imprinted itself in the hearts of the youth and its alumni.

The fest has played host to celebrities such as Nirup Bhandary, Esther Noronha, Rimi Tomy and Avinash Shetty. The fest has already set the stage for well-renowned performers like Antariksh, When Chai met Toast, Aneesh the Wireless Walking Violinist, Band Pineapple Express. Adrenaline has also provided the platform for the launch of Tata Gluco Plus, a product of Tata Global Beverages, in its very first Edition. This year Adrenaline is bigger than ever- 40 events and 8 workshops over 4 days from 19th to 22nd February, with over Rs 10 lakh worth prizes

Gift vouchers are being sponsored by Wonderla, Peter England and Thyme. This year Hockey has been introduced for the first time in Adrenaline, recognized by Dakshina Karnataka Hockey Association. This year they have also introduced Kriti- a Art exhibition for the first-ever time to be held on 21st and 22nd of February in the UG reading room. On Day 2: 20th February the events lined up for the day were-Football, Basketball, Kabaddi, Table Tennis tournaments; Creative Writing, Sudoku, Mad Ads, Pencil Sketching, Movie Screening, Battle of Bands, Knock Out Dancing. And as part of Pro show, the Flow Artists Swaroop Shetty and Ms Nishitha K A gave their unique performances playing with fire, which mesmerized and enthralled the crowd, on Thursday night.

On Day 3: 21st Feb, 2020- Football, Basketball, Badminton , Chess, Mime, Face Painting, Debate, Eating Competition, Quiz, Mock Press, Street Play, Duet Dancing, and live performance by “Mad Orange Fireworks”, a band from Bengaluru. Mad Orange Fireworks is a Four piece rock band based out of Bengaluru, with an origin story, to boot. In 2011, Michael Dias, a frustrated software engineer, decided to follow a higher calling – to becoming a Rock Star. He quit his lucrative job and scouted the city to find right musicians to start off his band, already with a song bank in his head. Along the way, he met Kaushik Kumar and Shravan Bendapudi (ex-drummer), two wayward souls, like himself, and formed Mad Orange Fireworks. And the rest, as they say, is a Hollywood montage.

‘Mad Orange Fireworks’is known for its originality, musicianship and stunning stage presence. Currently with Deepak Raghu on drums, the band actively performs all across the country. And tonight, the young medicos will be rocking to this Band, in and out? And come tomorrow, 22 February, DJ Martin D’Souza a top Dj from Bengaluru will be belting out a few Bollyhood, Western, EDM, Rap and much more hits to keep the crowd groovin’ and movin’? – so be there on 22nd February at 8 pm.
