Minister Jayamala Lashes Out at C T Ravi for Insulting Women
Mangaluru: “BJP General Secretary C T Ravi said in Chikkamagaluru that anyone who does not vote for Modi, his mother is ……. (derogatory insult). Which type of culture is this? Who is he to insult our women like this? Why should we vote for him? Should we vote for him for telling lies in five years? What has he done for us? Everyone can see the promises Modi made in his speech during the 2014 elections. I can point out every lie that they have told in the past five years”, said Minister for Women and Child Development Jayamala in a press meet held at the DCC Office, Mallikatta here on April 16.
Addressing the mediapersons Jayamala said, “I never thought that his (C T Ravi) mouth is so dirty. If we see our children talk like that, we wash their mouths with soap. I don’t think his mother did that. He talks so dirtily about women, no mother will forgive him. Forget votes, no one should forget their humanity. He has belittled women so much. What will he do for the nation? The two MPs of this district have not done an inch of work. The MP from Udupi district has not set foot in Udupi for five years.”
She further said, “The BJP has ruined India’s economy. Everyone knows that villages are the soul of India. When the Britishers left India, we didn’t even have proper clothes or education. Since then, the Congress government has continuously developed India. Modi appeared on TV every day and asked people to give up their gas subsidies. Crores of people gave up their gas subsidy. But what did they do? As soon as people gave up their subsidies, they removed subsidies for everyone. Fifty-one percent of funds under their Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana was spent on advertising and publicity. I urge the people to give a youngster, Mithun Rai a chance”
When asked whether the Congress Women’s cell will file a complaint against C T Ravi, Jayamala said, “We will definitely file a complaint. We are also sending him two books, Nammamma Andre Nangishta and Amma Helida Entu Sullugalu so that he can learn about the value of women and develop a little culture. We are going to courier the books to him.”
District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto, District Congress President Harish Kumar, former District Mahila Congress President Mamatha Gatti and others were also present.
