Minister Khader Holds MUDA Adalat

Mangaluru: The Minister for Housing and Urban Development and also the District Minister In-charge U T Khader held the “MUDA Adalat”, to listen to the grievances of the people and solve them at the MUDA office here on August 4.

Some of the aggrieved citizens who had come before 10:00 am to attend the MUDA Adalat protested for not starting the programme on time at 10:00 am. Due to the Minister’s tight schedule, the MUDA Adalat started at 11:40 am.

Addressing the mediapersons Minister U T Khader said, “To solve the various problems related to the conversion of the land or other problems we have held the MUDA Adalat. We need to understand the problems of the people and find a permanent solution. Those who are facing problems can come to the MUDA Adalat and share them here so that we can help to find a solution. If the problems can be solved at the MCC or DC level we will take up such cases and solve them. If the problems need to be solved at the UD level, we will take up the issues in Bengaluru and solve them. Hereafter for the conversion of land the 11 E sketch is not necessary. Registration and conversion issues will be solved step-by-step. We need to make DK a Podi free district within three months”.

The MUDA Adalat received more than 100 applications. The first applicant Tirumal Raj had come with a problem of the single-site layout at Kings Park. The site was not approved but the officials have imposed a penalty. “I had requested the MCC Commissioner to solve the problem but nothing has been done” said Tirumal Raj.

Responding to the problem U T Khader said, “What is Tirumal Raj’s fault, why the officials imposing a penalty for the mistake of the department? The officials should clear this file within a week.”

Another applicant said, “I had purchased a land 20 years ago and now I need a single layout. I have paid Rs 65000 to an agent who doesn’t want me to go to MUDA and assures that he will do the work. But nothing has happened so far”.

Khader said, “You should come personally to do your work to MUDA. Why are people paying money to the agents to do their work? If the MUDA officials will not do the work, file a complaint with the DC and we will take action.”

MUDA Commissioner said, “Agents take money from the people and after two months they come to MUDA and apply.”

MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Umanath Kotian, MLC Ivan D’Souza, DC Sasikanth Senthil, MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazir, MUDA Commissioner Srikanth and others were also present.
