Minister Khader Visits Hospital, Meets Diksha’s Parents, Assures Justice

Mangaluru: District Minister In-charge U T Khader visited K S Hegde Hospital and met the family members of Diksha who was stabbed in Deralakatte while returning home from college on June 28.

Diksha was severely injured and was rushed to K S Hegde Hospital. After surgery, Diksha has been recovering and responding to the treatment. Minister Khader met the family members and offered financial support of Rs 50000 for the medical expenses.

Minister Khader also appreciated the timely treatment to Diksha and assured to take care of her medical expenses. At present Diksha is under observation for 48 hours. She was given 2 more units of blood on June 30 since her Hemoglobin level was not stable. A team of 7 doctors are treating Diksha.

It is sad that when Sushanth was stabbing Diksha most of the people were watching and recording the incident. While the ambulance arrived a brave nurse from K S Hegde hospital intervened and stopped Sushanth from causing further harm. Later with the help of the nurse, locals rushed Diksha to the hospital by Ambulance.

Sushanth is also recovering in the hospital. Minister Khader said that due to the consumption of drugs such crimes are taking place. The police department is trying their best to curb the drug menace. We will strengthen the police department to take stern action against the drug peddlers. The police department has assured to take stern action against Sushanth.
