Minister Pramod Madhwaraj Travels by KSRTC Bus
Udupi: The Udupi district minister in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj surprised party workers by travelling in a KSRTC passenger bus on Friday, May 19.
The minister participated in the Udyoga Mela organised by his own ministry at Ajjarkad. Thereafter the minister boarded the KSRTC bus and participated in various development programmes in Brahmavar. The Minister travelled from Udupi to Brahmavar on the bus, he will participate in various development programmes scheduled until the end of the day. About 35 passengers on board were pleasantly surprised to see the minister on the bus.
Speaking to media person’s Madhwaraj said that, I wanted to travel in the KSRTC Bus with our workers. Today I have to attend the inauguration of many developmental programmes and Guddali Pujas in the Brahmavar region. After the congress government came to power, government buses were introduced in the rural areas of the district. People are now happy with the KSRTC bus service, earlier commuters were not happy with the attitude of the drivers and conductors of private buses. We want to introduce more KSRTC buses in the district, he added.
It’s truly great in having introduced KSRTC local
buses that are new, comfortable, and less crowded,
when compared to other local private buses, that
are poorly maintained, drivers and conductors have
no ethics at all, and most of all they stop the bus
anywhere, load the bus to any amount of people,
and driver the bus recklessly, as there is no law
and order for them.
Why don’t KSRTC build covered bus stops at 500m
distances so that ladies, children and older people can
sit and await a KSRTC bus that has intervals on some
routes as long as 45 min. Also, at the KSRTC Udupi
Bus Stand, benches with shade must be provided for
travellers awaiting a bus, and the entire bus stand must be
fenced to keep those labour class drunkards and the
liquor vending bar behind. The area in the vicinity of
the City bus stand must be cleared of all those illegal
shops/stalls, and those labourers who crowd this area.
All of it must be banned and a law strictly implemented.
