MLA Sunil Kumar should be Arrested for Delivering inciting Speech – Mamatha Gatti

Mangaluru: “The Congress government led by CM Siddaramaiah has done a lot of development work in the state and the people of the state are aware of it. The BJP leaders are disturbed by the achievement of the Congress government and are trying to create communal disturbance in the state. Two days ago in Kalladka, MLA Sunil Kumar delivered an inciting speech and said that the next election is not between Rajesh Nayak and Ramanath Rai but it is between Allah and Rama. For this statement MLA Sunil Kumar should be arrested”, said the former District Women’s Congress President Mamatha Gatti in a press meet held at the DCC office here on January 24.

Addressing the media persons Mamatha Gatti said, “According to the direction of the BJP National leader Amit Shah, BJP leaders are trying to create violence in the district by giving inciting speeches. BJP leaders have no concern towards the development of the district or the state. The inciting speech by MLA Sunil Kumar about the election between Allah and Rama will divide the people and create communal violence in the district. In this connection, we have filed a case against MLA Sunil Kumar in the Bantwal Town Police station. We request the DC to arrest the MLA and take stern action against him.”

Mamatha Gatti further said, “District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai with his development work in his constituency has won the elections six times. The people of the Bantwal constituency are aware of Ramanath Rai and his concern towards the people. They are aware of electing their leader in the forthcoming elections. The BJP leaders are making desperate moves to defame Ramanath Rai which the congress leaders strongly condemn. We once again request the DC to arrest the MLA of Karkala Sunil Kumar for his inciting speech.”

Congress leaders Vinayraj, Vishwas Das, Appi, Namitha D Rao and others were also present.
