Moodbidri: BD Activists Assaulted for Reporting Illegal Cow Slaughter house at Gantalkatte

Moodbidri: Activists of Bajrang Dal were assaulted by a group for informing the police about illegal possession of cows in a slaughter house at Gantalkatte here, on August 20.

The injured have been identified as Lokesh (24), Sharan (20) and Prajwal (25) from Gantalkatte.

Speaking to mangalorean.com, leader of Bajrang Dal Somnath said, “On receiving information about the illegal possession of cows in a slaughter house, our activists visited the spot and found 30 cows in the slaughter house. They immediately informed the Moodbidri police.”

When the police arrived at the spot, there was a commotion between the activists and the members of the slaughter house resulting in the assault of BD activists by the group for informing the police.

Police resorted to lathi charge to bio ing the situation under control. BD activists were also injured in the assault and have been admitted to the government hospital in Moodbidri.

BD and VHP leaders condemned the assault on the activists. Police are investigating the case.
