Moodbidri: Alva’s Pragati, largest job fair in Karnataka, witnessed a grand opening for its 6th edition here at Vidyagiri. Abhayachandra Jain, Minister, GoK, inaugurated the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Jain said that Alva’s Pragati has been organized for the benefit of the students belonging to various parts of Karnataka and India who are in the need of a job. “There are thousands of talented students. May Alva’s Pragathi bring happiness to them in the form of a job.”

A B Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Daksina Kannada District, said that there was a time when everything was made by the government. “But today, even the private colleges are organizing such programmes. It is a good exposure for all to know about the companies and the interview procedures. Some may not get a job, but it is still a good experience and they will also get exposure.”

Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP of Dakshina Kannada, in his presidential remarks said that there are a lot of opportunities while pursuing education, but there is scarcity of jobs. “To fulfill those needs, Alva’s Pragati is a good platform and the students should make use of it.”

Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation welcomed the gathering. Deepa Rathnakar, Lecturer in Psychology, compered the programme.
