Moodbidri: A felicitation ceremony for Padma Vibhushan Dr Veerendra Heggade was held at Alva’s Palace Ground, Vidhyagiri here, on April 12.
Padma Vibhushan Dr Veerendra Heggade along with the Swamijis were brought to the venue in a grand procession. Various tableaux accompanied the procession.
The programme began with an invocation by the students of Alva’s College. Chairman of SCDCC Bank, Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, welcomed the gathering.
Former Chief Minister Dr M Veerappa Moily, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, District minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai, former central minister B Janardhan Poojary, MP Shobha Karandlaje, Minister K Abhaychandra Jain and Yenepoya Abdullah Kunhi delivered the felicitation speech.
Prof M Ramachandra read out the citation. Padma Vibhushan Dr Veerendra Heggade was felicitated with a Peta, shawl, fruits, citation and memento.
Sri Sri Vishweshathirtha Shri Padangala and Swasti Sri Charukirthi Swamiji blessed Padma Vibhushan Dr Veerendra Heggade on the occasion.
Padma Vibhushan Dr Veerendra Heggade thanked the organizers for felicitating him and assured to continue his service towards mankind.
