Mangaluru: The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana was launched by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar and Minister of State for Skill Development Entrepreneurship Ananth Kumar Hegde at the City Town Hall here on October 16.

The programme began with an invocation. The programme was inaugurated by Minister Ananth Kumar and Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

Ministers distributed the Mudra Yojana Cheques to the beneficiaries on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Ananth Kumar said, “Skill India is the favourite scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to implement this scheme successfully he has appointed a skillful minister Ananth Kumar Hegde as minister for Skill Development Entrepreneurship. MP Nalin is very committed to his work and out of 545 MPs, Nalin is the only MP to bring the highest amount of Rs 17,000 crores for his parliamentary constituency. MP Nalin has done wonders to the Dakshina Kannada district. Nalin had asked me to announce the Plastic Park for Dakshina Kannada and we have announced the Rs 1000 crore Plastic Park for Mangaluru and asked Nalin to arrange land for the same. The MP has arranged 90 acres of land for the plastic park and assured to arrange another 100 acres land. MP Nalin had also said that when he would come to Delhi he wanted an in-principal approval to start the Plastic Park. The Plastic Park will create 30,000 jobs to the youth in Mangaluru. More than 36 Industrialists met me and Ananth Kumar Hegde in this regard, the Plastic Park in Mangaluru will be constructed in the fastest time.”

Ananth Kumar further said, “I congratulate all the bank officials for the success of the Mudra Yojana. Under the Mudra Yojana 8.40 lakh people will be benefitted and in the Mudra race, Karnataka state is the number one beneficiary. In Karnataka, 27,29,612 beneficiaries have benefited under the Mudra Yojana. In the history of Seventy years of independence, this is the first time the Mudra scheme has reached a large number of people”.

Ananth Kumar also said, “The Loan Mela started in Mangaluru because Mangaluru is the hub of banking. Through Mudra Yojana, the non-Corporate Small Business Segment comprising of proprietorship or partnership firms, machine operators, small manufacturing units, small industries, service sector units, fruits/vegetable vendors, shopkeepers, truck operators, food-service units, repair shops benefited. The mudra Yojana has provided self-employment to 8.40 lakh people and has created history in the world. We talk about co-operative federalism. In various states, different parties rule but Prime Minister Modi without any discrimination has supported all the states. In Karnataka, the Mudra scheme has become number one which shows that Narendra Modi does not discriminate the people of Karnataka.”

Ananth Kumar Hegde and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel also spoke on the occasion. ADC Kumar, ZP CEO Dr M R Ravi and others were also present.
