MP Shobha Karandlaje releases Report Card Of 4.5 years Development Work

Udupi: Shobha Karandlaje member of Parliament Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency on Friday, March 8, released the report card of the development work carried out during the last four and half years in her constituency at Hotel Karthik Estate.

Later speaking to the media persons Shobha said, “I am satisfied with the successful implementation of the various programmes in my constituency initiated by prime minister Narendra Modi for the upliftment and development of the citizens. The total allocation obtained from the central government for Udupi district is Rs 1817 crores and 1883 crores for Chikamagaluru district and a total of Rs 3700 crore for Udupi–Chikmagaluru Lok Sabha constituency in the last four and half years.

Prime minister Narendra Modi has given corruption-free governance to the country in the last 4.5 years. The common man has been freed of political corruption which we have done in four and half years.” Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India got a corruption-free and transparent government. The MP further said that the Modi government took many bold decisions in the interest of the nation like the surgical strike and the demonetization. The country has progressed on every front under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Congress raised doubts on the schemes launched by the NDA government for the poor such as building toilets and providing free gas connections. The ambitious scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was launched recently by the Centre. It entails a direct deposit of Rs 6,000 in three installments to as many as 13 crore small and marginal farmers across the country.

During these four and half years, the NDA Government has introduced a number of reforms that have been appreciated by the people of the country including the Swachch Bharat project, Demonetisation, implementation of Goods and Services tax, Ujjwala Yojna among others.

Today, the country is progressing rapidly. We have built crores of homes, modernised hospitals, introduced digital India etc. All these are creating job opportunities for youngsters. Till 2014 only 39% of the population had access to sanitation facilities, today the figure is over 80%. From independence till 2014 there were around 6 crore toilets in the country but in the last four and a half years, 7.5 crore toilets have been made. The opposition parties used to think of vote bank politics, they never tried to help the poor. They only made promises and forgot them after the elections.

In the last 4 and half years, the government has shown that India can change. Today the situation has changed. The country is in the path of development. The country is progressing with the best administration.

Listing the development works done by the MP in the constituency Shobha said Udupi Jems & Jewellery Training centre was formed in Udupi for the development of skilled manpower in preparing Gold and Silver ornaments. A first of its kind in the country. Ramakrishna Hegde Skill development Training Center is being established at the Udupi Railway Station to develop skills for the youths of Udupi Under the Department of Railways. The work is under progress of Govt Toolroom and training Center with association from NABARD with an outlay of Rs 9.35 cr at Uppoor in Udupi.

Rs 132 crore for Udupi Town and Rs 136 crore for Chikkamagaluru Town has been sanctioned under the AMRUT scheme for the overall development of the City and various developmental works are under progress. The new post office in Chikkamaglauru and Udupi has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.6 crore. Sakhi the one-stop centre which provides treatment, training and support to women under one roof was founded in Udupi City. Under the PM’s Ujjwala Yojana 26626 and 17901 households in Chikkamagluru and Udupi have been provided with free LPG connections. With the successful implementation of the Ayushman Bharath, Currently, 3713 people have utilized the benefit of the scheme at a cost of Rs 18.58 crore.

A few years back it was difficult to get passports, now with Prime Minister Modi’s vision, Passport Seva Kendras have been inaugurated in multiple cities across the country and also in Brahmavar of Udupi district. As of now, 7901 passports have been issued within 11 months of its successful functioning.

MLA Raghupathi Bhat, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, BJP leaders Uday Kumar Shetty, Githanjali Suvarna, Sandhya Ramesh, Suprasad Shetty, Katapadi Shanker Poojary and others were present.
