MRPL donates Rs 5 Crore to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund
Mangaluru: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has contributed Rs 5 Crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Natural Calamity. The contribution was handed over to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri B.S.Yeddyurappa by Shri M. Venkatesh, Managing Director, MRPL on 21 August 2019 at the Chief Minister’s official residence ‘Krishna’ in the presence of Ms Manjula C, Chairperson, CSR & SD Committee and Independent Director, MRPL, Shri B.H.V.Prasad, GGM (HR), Ministers and elected representatives of D.K. district.
Karnataka state has witnessed unprecedented heavy rains resulting in floods and several districts have been affected. Many citizens have lost their lives while lakhs of people have been rendered homeless. MRPL, being one of the biggest industries in the state of Karnataka, has responded to the Chief Minister’s appeal to help in the relief and rehabilitation efforts by contributing this amount under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
