Murder of Lone Woman for Gain, One Arrested

Kundapur: The Kundapur police have cracked the murder for gain case by arresting a person who was involved in the murder of the middle-aged woman at Hemmady, Haregodu on Monday, March 11.

 

The arrested has been identified as Raviraj (31) a resident of Muduru

Gulabi Mogaveera (55) from Hemmady, Haregodu, was found murdered at her house on March 1 when she was alone at home. The victim was living alone in her house after the death of her husband. Her mysterious death was suspected by the locals to be a murder for gain as the gold ornaments which she wore daily were missing.

After registering a case based on the complaint a special team, acting on the orders of Superintendent of Police Nisha James arrested Raviraj a resident of Muduru. The accused confessed to the police that he knew the deceased and had murdered her for the gold

SP Nisha James commended the special team, including Kundapur Rural PSI Sridhar Naik, Kundapur PSI Harish R Naik, HC Venkatramana Devadiga, Manjunath, Seethram Shettigar, Mohan Shiroor, Madhu, Santhosh Kumar Rathnkar Shetty, Santhosh Koravadi, Vijay, Santhosh, PC’s Adarsh, Chandrashekar, Sridhar, Sujith, Chethan, Sachin Shetty and others who had taken part in the operation to arrest the suspect. The team acted under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police Kumarchandra and Deputy Superintendent of Police Kundapur BP Dinesh Kumar.
