Muslim Central Committee Calls Community people to Maintain Peace, Demands Compensation for Families of Deceased

Mangaluru: “We request all the organizations and the people to maintain peace in the society.  I request the police department not to trouble the people by entering their houses and arresting them during the night. We will fully co-operate with the police department. Unfortunately, some untoward incidents took place today and two persons lost their lives. I don’t know how this happened”, said Central Committee leader K S Mohammed Masood in a press meet held at the Mangaluru East Police Station here on December 19.

Addressing the mediapersons K S Mohammed Masood said, “We demand the government to provide compensation to the families of those who lost their lives in today’s incident. Our Quazi Musliyar has also called the people of our community to maintain peace. There was Section 144 in place but our people protested. Now since curfew is imposed in Mangaluru I request all the people of our community to obey the law. If such incidents take place, we will intervene and solve them. Students and the youth should think of today’s incident and keep safe without involving themselves in such incidents. We have lost the lives of two persons Jalil (49) from Kanduka and Nausheen (23) from Kudroli. Police commissioner Dr Harsha has assured to co-operate with us till the funeral rites are completed”.

Masood also said, “Already our Qazi Ahmed Musliyar has called for peace in the society and requested everyone not to take the law into their hands. I once again request the people of our community to maintain peace and calm”.
