Nalin Kumar King of Failures – Congress Spokesperson Vinayraj
Mangaluru: “MP Nalin Kumar Kateel is the king of failures. From the past ten years, he has not done any development work for the district. Our district is one among very few districts in the country which has a port, airport, railway connectivity and national highway. But during the 10 years of Nalin Kumar Kateel’s tenure development of the district has not been done as expected. The Suratkal – Talapady national highway work is going on from the past 10 years and the service road has not been constructed in many places. Without completing the highway work, the toll is being collected illegally. The BJP is asking what is the contribution of the Congress to the nation in 60 years. The Congress has constructed the Port, airport, NITK and many other developments work in the district but what is Nalin’s Contribution to the district in 10 years as MP?, questioned Congress spokesperson Vinayraj in a press meet held at the District Congress Office here on April 4.
Addressing the mediapersons Vinayraj said, “From the past ten years the Pumpwell and Thokkottu flyover work is going on. But the MP is giving different reasons every time and fooling the people. Nalin Kumar Kateel has a number of times given the completion date of the Pumpwell and Thokkottu flyover work but has failed every time. Now he is blaming the former MLA J R Lobo and Minister U T Khader for the delay in the Pumpwell flyover and trying to divert the minds of the people. He is trying to hide his failures telling lies to the people. When the flyover work started Yogish Bhat was the MLA of the constituency. If the people’s representatives or local bodies are not co-operating then why did he not raise his voice for so many years? When the election is nearing he is blaming our MLA and the local bodies in front of the Media”.
Vinayraj further said, “In front of the media Nalin Kumar is criticizing the company for the delay in completing the Pumpwell flyover work. The Pumpwell junction is very busy and thousands of vehicles pass through this junction. Mangaluru – Moodbidri – Karkala national Highway work has also been delayed. Instead of asking us what the Congress has done, let the BJP leaders come for a debate. Let them ask us what we have done and we will give the reply. Let BJP speak about their achievements. In regard to the smart city, the NDA government has only changed the name of the project the Congress initiated. We got the smart city because of the DPR prepared by our former MLA J R Lobo. For the smart city, the central government is giving only 1/4 of the funds and rest is being borne by the state government and the Mangaluru City corporation. Nalin did not do anything for the smart city project”.
Vinayraj also said, “This time our high command has given an opportunity to youth to contest the Lok Sabha polls. People are fed up with Nalin Kamar Kateel and they want a change in Dakshina Kannada. This time we are sure the people of Dakshina Kannada will elect an educated youth as our MP.”
