New Delhi: Puttur Product K M Nataraj Appointed Addl Solicitor General of India

New Delhi: With the appointment of senior advocate K M Nataraj as additional solicitor general (south zone), Dakshina Kannada can boast of yet another of its products to hold a high post in the Union ministry of law, headed by D V Sadananda Gowda.

The order of appointment was issued by the ministry’s joint secretary, who is also the legal adviser to the Union government.

Nataraj hails from the Konemane family of Ishwaramangala, a remote village in Puttur taluk. After pursuing his degree  education, he obtained in degree in Law from the SDM Law College, Mangaluru. In 1992, he began his legal career as assistant to former state advocate general B V Acharya.

He has earlier served as additional advocate general of Karnataka between 2009 and 2013. When appointed he was said to be the youngest in the country to hold a post of that grade.
