BJP Councillor, his Son, Hotel Owner including 19 Test Positive for Coronavirus in Udupi

Udupi: A BJP councillor from Udupi CMC and his son including 19 others have tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday, July 4.

Meanwhile, the owner of a well-known hotel has also tested positive for the virus.

Of the 19 cases, one of them had travelled to Maharashtra, three of them have inter-district travel history, and 14 others contracted the virus through local persons who had tested positive for the virus. The source of infection of one person is yet to be traced by the Health Department.

All Nineteen persons are shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.

The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 160. So far, 1114 patients have been discharged, and Three have succumbed to COVID-19.
