Oltmans confirmed as Indian hockey chief coach

New Delhi, July 25 (IANS) Following the ouster of Paul van Ass, Hockey India (HI) on Saturday formally appointed its High Performance Director Roelant Oltmans as the chief coach of the men’s national team.

HI president Batra met Sports Authority of India (SAI) Director General Injeti Srinivas, before making the announcement based on the recommendations made by the Special Committee recently constituted by HI.

“Oltmans has agreed to be the coach of Indian men’s team. We will request Oltmans to stay as the team’s coach until 2018 World Cup,” Batra told reporters outside the SAI office.
