Orientation-cum-Review Meeting on CCBI Pastoral Plan Held at Subodhana
Bengaluru: A one-day Orientation-cum-Review Meeting for the Diocesan Pastoral Commissions Coordinators and the Regional Commission Secretaries was held on July 30, 2026, at Subodha, the Karnataka Regional Pastoral Centre, Bengaluru.
The programme was graced by Archbishop Peter Machado. In his introductory words he said that all the secretaries are appointed as a choice not by chance. So he exhorted them to give their best to the region.
The programme was animated by Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop Emeritus of Udupi and Chairman of the CCBI Pastoral Plan Implementation Committee. The meeting focused on strengthening the implementation of the CCBI Pastoral Plan across the dioceses and at the regional level.
In the morning session, Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo presented an orientation on “From Mandate to Mission”, explaining the Church’s call for a Pastoral Plan. He highlighted the process, vision, and salient features of the CCBI Pastoral Plan and elaborated on its implementation at the regional level, emphasizing the need for coordinated pastoral action and collaborative ministry.
The afternoon session was devoted to a review of the progress made in implementing the CCBI Pastoral Plan. The Regional Commission Secretaries and the Diocesan Pastoral Commissions Coordinators presented reports on the initiatives undertaken in their respective regions and dioceses, sharing their experiences, achievements, and challenges in carrying forward the pastoral priorities of the Church.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for dialogue and mutual learning, enabling participants to exchange best practices and strengthen their commitment to the effective implementation of the CCBI Pastoral Plan.
The programme was systematically organized by Rev. Fr. Anil Prasad, Regional Pastoral Plan Coordinator, Karnataka. The orientation-cum-review meeting brought together 36 diocesan coordinators and regional secretaries from the dioceses of the Karnataka Region, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing the Church’s pastoral mission through the CCBI Pastoral Plan.
