P Harishekaran Takes Charge as IGP Western Range

Mangaluru: P Harishekaran, who was Additional Commissioner of Police (East), Bengaluru city has taken charge as the IGP of Western Range here, on January 6.

J Arun Chakravarthy has been posted as the IGP (Internal Security), Bengaluru and Harishekaran, a 1996 batch IPS officer has taken charge as the IGP of Western Range.

Speaking to the mediapersons Harishekaran said, “I have come to Mangaluru for the first time. When I was the ASP in Hassan in 1998, I had visited some places in Mangaluru. This is a prestigious range in Karnataka Police and I am very happy to serve here. I will do my best to maintain law and order during my tenure”.

Harishekaran further said, “I hail from Tamil Nadu and I am a postgraduate in Arts. I love history and history was my major. I was an outstanding student in the college. I have worked well even under pressure at places I have been deputed. I am also a long distance runner and my best timings in the 10 km race is 54 minutes having created a record three years ago. I would like to thank the media since I have received good support from the media in my endeavours. I give credit to the media persons for my success because they give good feedback which has helped me to improve my service”. Harishekaran asked the media persons to utilize his service for the good of the society”.

Harishekaran also said, “My predecessor has done a wonderful job and I will continue it. My main aim is to strengthen my force because I believe in team work. We need to share our experience with our officers and work accordingly,” he added.
