‘Parameshwara Hatao, Cong Bachao’ posters in Tumakuru
Tumakuru: Posters that read: “Parameshwara Hatao; Congress Bachao” were put up at certain places in Tumakuru city on Saturday. The posters had the image of Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara on them. The poster was signed by ‘Aggrieved Congress workers of Tumakuru district’.
These posters were found on public walls near BGS Circle, Library, Skywalk, SIT and Valmikinagar. The posters which were probably pasted on Friday night were there in public view till Saturday afternoon. Post that, they were removed. When the DyCM was contacted for a reaction, he declined to comment.
Parameshwara told reporters that no Congress MLA would leave the party and defect (like Ramesh Jarkiholi). “There is no trouble for the coalition government. Kumaraswamy will continue as chief minister,” he added.
“All of us take responsibility for alliance candidate former PM H D Deve Gowda’s defeat in Tumkur LS constituency. Even K N Rajanna (a rebel Congressman) has also worked for the alliance candidate in Madhugiri,” Parameshwara observed.
The DyCM said that AICC president Rahul Gandhi was upset because Congress was routed in the Karnataka LS polls. He gave vague replies when reporters asked him if would become the next chief minister. “It must be someone else’s dream,” he added.
