Police Dept did Not Issue any Letter of Appreciation for Police Personnel – Dr Harsha

Mangaluru: After a letter was being circulated by some miscreants on social media, in a voice message Police commissioner Dr Harsha has clarified and said, “Few people are trying to misrepresent facts and spread rumours of various kinds. There is an incident of trying to misrepresent even official communication. An appeal to all to restrain from spreading rumours based on false information”.

After a letter was circulated through social media claiming to be from the police department, Dr Harsha said, “I request everyone to note that the letter which is circulated is not an official communication from the police department. It is a misrepresentation which is on a white sheet. It does not have any signature nor any reference number of the police department”.

Dr Harsha further stated, “The police department has recognized the services of all the officers and staffs who have faced challenging situation recently. To boost their morale we have appreciated their efforts and thanked each one of them irrespective of ranks. We thank all officers who have stood the ground and discharged their duties efficiently”.

Dr Harsha also said, “The letter also contains the names of the police officers who were on duty on December 19 making rounds and some media houses have published that letter.”

While the letter was making rounds, police commissioner Dr Harsha has informed the general public through voice message”.
