Police to Hand over Shiroor Math to Sode Math on August 13
Udupi: The Shiroor Math in Udupi Rathabedi, which was under the possession of the police following the suspicious death of Shiroor Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji will be handed over to the Sode Math on August 13.
After the death of Shiroor Swamiji, the police had taken over the Udupi Math and the Shiroor Moola Math for the purpose of investigations and was under tight security. The entry for the public to the Math was banned.
In a press release issued by Srinivas Tantri Diwan of Sode Math, it has been stated that the police will be handing over the Udupi Shiroor Math on August 13 and soon the Moola Math will also be handed over to the Sode Math. The Aradhane of late Shiroor Swamiji will be held once the police hand over the possession of the Math to Sode Math.
Udupi SP Laxman Nimbargi speaking to Mangalorean.com said, “The Shiroor Math which is situated in Car Street Udupi will be handed over to the Sode Math on August 13. But, no decision has yet been made regarding the handing over of the Moola Math. Until then, the Moola Math will be under the possession of the Udupi police under tight security”, he said.
