Prabhakar Bhat is Behind Kalladka Incident, He should be Arrested – SDPI
Mangaluru: “On May 26, two youth were attacked by a Hindu group when they were on their way back home after the Friday prayers. Mohammed Hashir and Mohammed Mashooq were attacked with weapons by Mithun, Yathin, Amith, Acchut, Naveen, Ranjith and Pushparaj. But Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has called a press meet and clarified that Mithun and his team were not involved in the attack. I think Kalladka Bhat is directly involved in the attack, and the accused are under his protection. Kalladka Bhat should be arrested and investigation should be done”, said the district president of SDPI Haneef Kodaje in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on May 30.
Addressing the mediapersons Haneef said, “Mithun and his team are involved in various crimes and all of them were arrested. A few days ago they were released on bail but as soon as they came out from the Jail they started to attack innocents. All of a sudden calling for a press meet and clarifying that Mithun and his team are not involved in the attack on Hashir and Mashooq gives way to the suspicion that Kalladka Bhat is creating communal violence in Kalladka by attacking the innocent. Mithun and his team are given shelter in Kalladka Bhat’s house. If the police arrest Bhat the truth will come out and the police will come to know where the accused are hiding.”
Haneef Kodaje further said, “On May 27, people of Kalladka called for a voluntary bandh. Even though Kalladka Bhat forced the shop owners to keep their shops open, the shops remained closed. The people of Kalladka are peace lovers so they did not heed to Bhat’s order. Some anti-social elements are trying to spoil the peace in Kalladka during Ramadan. Those responsible for the communal violence should be arrested and strict action should be taken against them imposing the goonda act.”
Haneef Kodaje also said, “Even on May 28, in the press meet Kalladka Bhat insulted the SP. The police should file a Suo moto case against Bhat and strict action should be taken against him. There are attacks on innocent youth, those who incite communal violence should be arrested immediately. The accused are committing crimes in Kalladka and Bantwal police station limits and trying to spoil the peace in the society. The accused get bail easily, come out from jail and commit crimes repeatedly. The police department should keep an eye on them. This is the Holy month of Ramadan and Muslims go to the Mosque for prayers, they should be given protection in the district. If Mithun and his team will not be arrested the SDPI will stage a district-wide protest, ” Haneef warned.
SDPI leaders Shahul S H, Iqbal Bellare, Ashraf Manchi, Zakaria and others were also present.
