Puttur Surveyor Caught While Receiving Bribe for Land Sketch

Mangaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested the surveyor of Puttur Taluk while accepting a bribe on October 4.

The arrested has been identified as M Shivakumar, surveyor of Puttur Taluk.

According to the ACB police, Shivakumar demanded Rs 30,000 from Gopal Muger to do the land survey sketch to be submitted to the PODI. Being a coolie worker Gopal was unable to pay Rs 30,000. For the past 4 years, Shivakumar was refusing to provide the sketch. Finally, Shivakumar agreed to provide the survey sketch if Gopal would pay Rs 20,000.

Shivakumar agreed for the amount to be paid in 4 installments. On October 4, Gopal came to the Taluk office with the first installment of Rs 5000. Shivakumar was arrested by the ACB police while receiving the bribe.

A case has been registered against Shivakumar and further investigation is on.

Under the able leadership of ACB DySP Sudheer Hegde, the operation was carried out by the police inspector ACB Shyamasundar, Police Inspector Yogish,  Hariprasad, K Radhakrishna, Umesh, Prashanth, Vaishali, Rakesh, Rajesh and Ganesh
