Rachana President should Help Jeppu Residents instead of holding Political Talk – Jitendra Kottari

Mangaluru: “The Rachana Chambers of Commerce and Industry held a talk on the “Present Political scenario and our Responsibility” on March 18 at Valencia Church Hall. Being a Catholic organization they can hold talks but the President of Rachana Stany Alvares had invited political leaders to discuss the present political scenario. Rachana has invited only the Congress leaders to discuss the topic. Even while delivering speech, Roy Castelino said that in 2008, the BJP attacked 100 churches and due to our protests they have cancelled the Samajyotsava. He also said that the BJP is anti-christian which is hundred percent false because Roy Castelino was the member of the Christian development board when the BJP was in power”, said the BJP Spokesperson Jithendra Kottari in a press meet held at the BJP office here on March 19.

Addressing the mediapersons Jitendra Kottari said, “MLA J R Lobo had briefed on the development work in his constituency and the government development projects. Through Rachana whatever work he has done, MLA Lobo asked everyone to support the Congress. We advise Stany Alvares, not to play cheap politics. Rachana is an independent Catholic organization and the president of BJP minority cell Gladwin D’Silva being a lifetime member was not invited to the meeting but Stany Alvares invited the Congress leaders for the talk. I advise Stany Alvares instead fo holding such talks, let him help the Jeppu residents who are in trouble. Nearly 272 families are losing their land in the Jeppu compound and Eric Ozario has already stated of returning to the Hindu religion if they will not be given justice.”

Jitendra Kottari further said, “Stany Alvares limited the programme for only one political party. MLA J R Lobo had even questioned the EVM’s used for the elections. Instead of holding political programmes through the Christian association, with MLA J R Lobo as the guest, Rachana should do justice with the residents of Jeppu compound and not play cheap politics.”

Jitendra Kottari also said, “When we had organized the Jana Suraksha Yatra, we too had decorated the city with buntings and banners. The district minister in-charge misused his power and insisted the DC to issue a notice to the MCC Commissioner to remove all the buntings and banners. Immediately the MCC started to remove the BJP banners from the city, but the same party has decorated the entire city with buntings and banners. Why is the same law not applicable to them? Why is the DC and MCC commissioner quiet now? Is it because Minister Ramanath Rai, Minister U T Khader and MLA J R Lobo ordered them to keep quiet? The DC and the police officers are being used by the Congress leaders. If the BJP could not decorate the city with buntings and banners how can the Congress violate the law?”

Corporators Roopa D Bangera, Ganesh Hosabettu, Sudheer Shetty, Premanand Shetty and Gladwin D’Silva were also present.

  1. Why is Jitendra Kottari against Rachana holding their meeting? Is there any need for BJP’s permission for Rachana to hold any programme? Who are they to question Rachana? If they show their attitude towards Catholics in such a way now itself, what will be our fate if they come to power? The need of the hour is to think before you cast your precious vote!!!
