Revenue Minister R Ashoka Visits Areas Affected by Sea Erosion at Padubidri

Udupi: State Revenue Minister R Ashok visited areas affected by sea erosion in Padubidri here on August 7.

Minister Ashok visited Padubidri beach and inspected the damage caused by sea erosion.

Speaking to media persons, Ashok said that measures have been taken to ensure that the tragedy occurred last year do not repeat this year. He said that Rs 20 crore has been released to the fire service and emergency department to procure all required materials for rescue operations. The police, revenue, and fire service personnel will tackle flood situations in the state.

Instructions have been given to all the districts to respond immediately to the situation. An additional amount of Rs 5 crore will be released Udupi district, he added.

Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary, Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh, SP Vishnuvardhan, Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattar Rathnakar Hegde and others were present.
