Rowdy-sheeter arrested for Looting Financier in Malali
Mangaluru: The Bajpe police arrested a rowdy sheeter on July 22, in connection with looting a financier in Malali on July 14.
The arrested has been identified as Mohammed Khalid alias Koya (32) from Ulaibettu.
According to the police, Senthil Kumar a small-time Financier was lending money and every Sunday he was collecting money from the borrowers. On July 14, at around 10:00 am, Senthil Kumar was on his way to Addur Malali from Maroli on his bike.
At 2:30 pm, when Senthil was on his way to Malali site, four youth came in two bikes and waylaid him. The accused then broke open the box in the bike and looted Rs 2.05 lakh from Senthil which he had collected from the borrowers and fled from the spot.
In this connection, a case was filed in the Bajpe police station. The Bajpe police taking up the case arrested Ashlesh (20) from Ulaibettu, Abdul Aziz (19) from Kinnikambla and Mohammed Mustafa (23) from Ganjimatt. All the three accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
The accused Rowdy-sheeter Mohammed Khalid alias Koya is involved in various crimes and 9 cases including 4 cases of attempt to murder have been registered against him in the Mangaluru Rural police station and 4 cases including 1 attempt to murder case in the Bajpe police station. He was externed from Mangaluru but was involved in the crime to loot the financer using his associates. On July 22, Mohammed was arrested in Ulaibettu by the police and Rs 50,000, two mobile phones, a machete and a knife was seized from him.
Under the direction of Police commissioner Sandeep Patil and the guidance of DCP Law and order Hanumantharaya, DCP crime and traffic Lakshmi Ganesh and the ACP of North Sub Division Srinivas Gowda, the operation was carried out by the Bajpe Police inspector S Parashiva Murthy, PSI Satish M P, Kamala, ASI Ramachandra, Rama Poojary, Janardhan Gowda, HCs Chandramohan, Rajesh, Sudheer Shetty and Santhosh Sullia, PCs Manjunath, Vinod, Tirupati, Mujambilm Muthanna, Home guard Satish and the Mangaluru Rural Police.
