Rs 10 Crore for Flood Relief in Udupi District – Basavaraj Bommai

Udupi: Home minister and district minister in-charge for Udupi District Basavaraj Bommai said that Rs 10 crore would be released to the district for taking up flood relief measures. He was speaking to media persons after visiting the sea erosion areas on Tuesday, August 11.

Yesterday we had a meeting with the prime minister and requested him to provide additional special assistance to handle the flood situation in the state.

Speaking about the celebration of Independence day Bommai said, the Union home ministry has allowed holding the Independence Day functions on August 15 with the observation of health protocols like social distancing and wearing of masks. This year there will be no public events like cultural programmes of children coming from schools and parades.

Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh, SP Vishnuvardhan, ZP president Dinakar Babu, members Githanjali Suvarna, Shilpa Suvarna, K Suresh Nayak and others were present.
