Rs 74 Lakh Reserved for Nandigudda Crematorium development – MLA Lobo

Mangaluru: MLA J R Lobo along with the MCC officials and corporators visited the crematorium at Nandigudda here on October 25.

Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said that Rs 74 lakh has been reserved for the development of the Crematorium in Nandigudda. The funds should be utilized for the total development of the crematorium and priority should be given to the cleanliness of the surrounding area.

He also instructed the MCC officials that the crematorium should look beautiful. Whoever comes to the crematorium, cleanliness should be maintained. Once a month, grass should be trimmed. The parking facilities should be provided for people coming to the cremation. An overhead tank should be built to provide drinking water and for washing hands. A high mast light and street lights should be installed.

“There are 6 silicone vessels to cremate the bodies and four more will be installed. Officers should work with integrity to make the Nandigudda crematorium a model one”, said Lobo.

MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazir, Former Mayor Jacintha Alfred, Lancelot Pinto, Premanand Shetty, Divakar, Rathikala, Kavitha Vasu, Keshav Maroli, Engineer Linge Gowda and others were also present.
