Rumours about COVID -19: MP Nalin Visits Wenlock Hospital

Mangaluru: The fear among the people about the spread of the Coronavirus is increasing, on March 23, an audio message which was circulated on the social media about the Wenlock hospital had gone viral. The police commissioner had also warned the people not to disseminate fake messages on social media. In this connection, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel visited the Wenlock hospital on March 24 to confirm about the facilities to treat the COVID – 19 suspected patients.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel met the DMO Dr Rajeshwari Devi, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh, and the health officer in the Hospital.

Deputy commissioner Sindhu Roopesh informed the MP that a separate block had was arranged for treating the COVID – 19 cases in Wenlock hospital. At present arrangements have been made to treat 200 people in the isolation ward. So far, only one positive case has been found, and another suspected case is being monitored in the isolation ward.

MP Nalin Kumar later said, “Do not to believe in the propaganda and fake messages spread on social media. Both the central and state governments, and the district administration are committed to taking complete care of the people.”
