Sandesha Foundation and Mangalore IAS Celebrate 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour
Mangaluru: The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education, Mangaluru, in association with Mangalore IAS – A School for Civil Services.
The celebration brought together students, staff, guests and well-wishers to commemorate the historic occasion and honour the sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters. The programme reflected the values of patriotism, unity and national responsibility.
The programme began with participants gathering in the front yard of the Sandesha Foundation. The Master of Ceremonies welcomed the gathering and spoke about the significance of Independence Day and the importance of remembering the values and responsibilities associated with freedom.
This was followed by a rendition of the patriotic song “Vande Mataram”. The highlight of the celebration was the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, “Jana Gana Mana”. The unfurling of the Tricolour was received with pride and respect by everyone present.
Fr Roshan Rosario, Director of Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education, welcomed the gathering and introduced the distinguished guests.
Rev. Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, Chief Guest, delivered an inspiring message on the meaning of freedom, the responsibilities of citizens and the need to build a just, peaceful and united India.
Dr Rukhsana Hassan, Guest of Honour, also addressed the gathering and shared her thoughts on the importance of national unity, education and responsible citizenship.
The programme continued with felicitations and announcements by Santhosh Kumar S., followed by a patriotic song presented by the students of Mangalore IAS. Their enthusiastic participation added youthful energy and spirit to the celebration.
The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Roy Castelino, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, guests, staff, students and all those who contributed to the success of the celebration. The gathering thereafter dispersed for refreshments.
The Independence Day celebration served as a meaningful reminder of India’s journey since independence and every citizen’s responsibility to contribute to the nation’s progress and development.
The celebration concluded with the patriotic message, “Jai Hind – Unity in Diversity – Proud to be Indian.”
