School Bus Driver Suffers Heart Attack, saves Children from harm and Collapses
Udupi: A school bus driver suffered a minor heart attack while driving at Perampalli on Wednesday evening but managed to ensure the safety of the children on board by his timely action.
According to sources, Alwyn D’Souza (52), a resident of Karje, the driver of the school bus coming from Perampalli School towards Manipal, suffered a mild heart attack.
As soon as Alwyn felt pain in the chest, he tried and stopped the bus on the left side of the road and lost consciousness. Panicked students and assistant staff called the local people who rushed the driver to Manipal Hospital.
Four to five students suffered minor injuries in the incident. Alwyn is admitted to the hospital for treatment.
