Sealdown of District Borders: Udupi Diocese Suspends Holy Masses and Religious Activities for 14 days

Udupi: Due to seal down of the Udupi district borders from July 15 to 29, the Udupi diocese has decided to suspend the Holy Masses and other religious activities until further notice from the deputy commissioner of Udupi district.

According to the press release issued by the diocese, the district administration of Udupi through circular No. MAG(2) R: 51/2020-21: 5406 has ordered the seal down of the district borders from 8 pm on July 15, 2020, to July 29, 2020. During this period, all religious gatherings and public celebrations are prohibited.

Access to Churches/Temples/Mosques is restricted. No Public worship or communitarian religious activity is permitted for the public.

Hence, no communitarian religious activity including daily mass, shall be held in the churches of the Udupi Diocese till July 29, 2020. Thereafter, we shall comply with the future directives of the district administration.
