Selection Trials for Special Children held in Mangaluru for the Special Olympics Bharat

 Mangaluru: Special Olympics Bharat-Karnataka, conducted the selection trials for the special children of Karnataka State, in three discipline viz Table Tennis, Badminton and Roller Skating, in Mangaluru on Saturday 30th November 2019. Around 200 participants from different parts of the state took part in this competition. This event was organised by Mangalore Roller Skating Club.

The inaugural ceremony was held in the morning. Sindhu B Rupesh, IAS, D.C. Dakshina Kannada District, inaugurated the event. She said that there is a special talent in each child, and we should help to bring these talents to the fore by organizing more such events.

Snehal R Gaurav, IAS, M.D. of MESCOM was the guest of honour. She said that the special children are different from other children, and they should be given more opportunity to showcase their talent. Pradeep D’souza, Deputy Director of Youth Services and Sports, Kumuda Bharath, Area Director and Amarendra, Sport Director were among the other dignitaries on the dais.

Praveen Kumar , President of Mangalore Roller Skating Club, welcomed the gathering. Mahesh Kumar, Secretary, proposed a vote of thanks. Ms Shalini was the master of ceremony.
