Sexual Assault on Minor Boy, Moulvi Booked Under POCSO Act
Mangaluru: The Puttur police have booked a Moulvi under the POCSO Act, in connection with the sexual assault of a minor boy in Narimogeru.
On March 21, at around 5:00 pm, a minor boy had gone to the Madrasa taking snacks and tea to the Moulvi sent by his neighbour Haroon. While the boy handed over the snacks and tea to Moulvi Anwar, he closed the Madrasa door and sexually assaulted him. The Moulvi then threatened the boy with life if informed anyone about the incident.
On April 7, after the Madrasa classes, Anwar once again closed the door and did not allow the boy to go out. Later he again sexually assaulted the boy and threatened him not to reveal the matter to anyone.
With the fear of repeated assault, the boy stopped going to the Madrasa and the Mosque for prayers. When the mother questioned the boy for not going to the Mosque or Madrasa, he revealed that Moulvi Anwar had sexually assaulted him.
The Puttur Women’s Police have registered a case against Moulvi Anwar under the POCSO Act.
