Simon-the World’s Biggest Rabbit Dies Aboard UA Flight

According to sources, an enormous rabbit has ‘died mysteriously’ aboard United Airlines flight in a fresh controversy for the carrier. This giant rabbit that was destined to become the world’s biggest reportedly died on the flight, on the way to its new home with a “very famous” celebrity. Three-foot Simon, a continental giant rabbit aged 10 months, was said to have been travelling from Heathrow-London to O’Hare in Chicago after being bought by an unidentified star in the United States.

Breeder Annette Edwards, from Worcestershire-England, told media that Simon was expected to grow to be the world’s biggest rabbit after his father Darius grew to 4 feet 4 inches (1.32 m). She told the paper: “Something very strange has happened and I want to know what. I’ve sent rabbits all around the world and nothing like this has happened before. “The client who bought Simon is very famous. He’s upset.”

Ms Edwards once spent £10,000 on plastic surgery to look like cartoon character Jessica Rabbit, and has appeared on TV. The breed costs £5,000 a year to keep, the paper said.

In the meantime, a United spokeswoman said: “We were saddened to hear this news. The safety and well-being of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our Pet Safe team. “We have been in contact with our customer and have offered assistance. We are reviewing this matter.”
