‘Singam 3’ to get new title

Chennai, Jan 5 (IANS) Suriya-starrer Tamil actioner “Singam 3”, which goes on the floors this week, is all set to be rechristened. The makers are planning to announce the new title on Wednesday.

“The new title will be announced on Wednesday midnight. We’re changing the title for a special reason, which we plan to reveal shortly,” a source from the film’s production unit told IANS.

To be directed by Hari, the film will be produced by Suriya’s home banner 2D Entertainment.

Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan have been roped in to play the female leads.

Mahesh Babu’s ‘Brahmotsavam’ to release on April 29

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Telugu family drama “Brahmotsavam”, which is nearing completion, will hit the screens worldwide on April 29.

“The team is currently shooting the final schedule of the film. Two more songs have to be shot. Once all this is done, the next two months will be spent on post-production. The makers are planning to release the film on April 29,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Directed by Srikanth Addala, the film stars Pranitha Subhash, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in important roles.

Produced by PVP Cinema, “Brahmotsavam” has music by Mickey J. Meyer.

Mahesh, meanwhile, will start working on his next Tamil-Telugu yet-untitled bilingual with filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss.

Dhanush’s ‘Kodi’ goes on the floors

Actor Dhanush-starrer Tamil political thriller “Kodi”, which also stars Trisha Krishnan and Shamlee, went on the floors on Tuesday.

“With all your blessings #Kodi shooting begins from today directed by Durai Senthil Kumar. Happy to team up Santosh Narayanan for d 1st time (sic),” Dhanush posted on his Twitter page on Tuesday.

Dhanush and Trisha have teamed up for a film for the first time.

Trisha will reportedly essay a character with negative shades.

As soon as Dhanush wraps up work on “Kodi”, he will begin work on two-part film “Vada Chennai”, which will chronicle 30 years in the life of a gangster.
