SP Annamalai to Assist DK police to Control L&O Situation in Bantwal
Mangaluru: SP of Chikkamagaluru K Annamalai and his team from Chikkamagaluru are assisting the DK police in Bantwal to control the tense situation after the murder of SDPI leader Ashraf Kalayi in Benjanapadav on June 21.
On June 21 morning SDPI leader Ashraf Kalayi was murdered by unidentified persons in Benjanapadav. As soon as the news spread, miscreants pelted stones on houses and damaged a bus. Annamalai a strict and no-nonsense officer who is popular in dealing with such situations has been asked to assist the DK police in dealing with the tense situation in Bantwal Taluk.
Sources said that Annamalai has already visited DK district with his team, he will assist the Dakshina Kannada police to take care of the law and order situation in Bantwal.
Meanwhile, Pandeshwar Police Inspector Belliappa has also been appointed as Circle Inspector of Bantwal with immediate effect.
