St Aloysius B.Ed College observes ‘Aloysius Week’

  • It is better to be a child of God than the king of the whole world!”-St
    Aloysius of Gonzaga.

Mangaluru: Every institute endeavours consistently to reflect the charism of its Patron and Alma Mater. The values and graces that shine forth through the numerous alumni/ae of the prestigious St Aloysius B.Ed College is concretely evident in the difference they make in all that they contribute to Society. Values of this great Saint are planted in the students as they get formed to be teachers during the course of the academic formation in the premises of St. Aloysius campus.

As the Aloysian Institutes are set to celebrate the 450th birth anniversary of their patron, St. Aloysius Gonzaga, the St Aloysius B.Ed College is celebrating ‘The Aloysius Week’, a week that brings to life the highest principles, ethics and the deep spirituality of this young Saint. During this week there is a focus on instilling exemplary standards of St Aloysius in all the students through different themes such as:

  • Joy of Giving-Reflection on sharing of oneself.
  • Celebrating Differences-Unity and humanness amid Diversity.
  • Ever to love and to Serve- A focus on Aloysius’ selfless service for the plague victims.
  • Self-Giving- Visit to various orphanages/Ashrams.

Commitment-Essay competition on the theme ‘St Aloysius for Today’ and a quiz on ‘St Aloysius’ life history.

The Magis- ‘Go set the world aflame’- a reflection on excellence in all things and a Treasure Hunt which is tailor-made to learn the characteristics of St Aloysius.

This week (June 11 to 15, 2018) is enshrined with creative presentations of these themes through reflections, quizzes, essay writings, treasure hunt and a visit to different orphanages. Hence, throughout the week the institute aims at bringing out the need for a
Humanitarian approach as exemplified by its patron in all its Students, in all they do.
