St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrates 74th Independence Day

Mangaluru: “When the poorest of the poor have freedom to live in harmony, India achieves the real freedom”- said Rev. Fr. Lancy Fernandes SJ, Chief Guest of the 74th Independence day celebrations. St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated the 74th Independence Day on 15th of August, with zeal and enthusiasm. The celebrations commenced by invoking the Divine. The Chief Guest of the day Fr. Lancy M. Fernandes SJ along with the Principal Fr. Melwyn Lobo unfurled the national flag.
Chief Guest in his message highlighted the aspects of true nationalism, freedom and development. The Principal urged the teachers to sow the seeds of freedom in student’s mind to help them to discover the inner freedom and become free citizens of India. Ms.Deepthi Karkada welcomed the gathering and Ms.Sushrutha M.P proposed the vote of thanks. In commemoration of the Independence Day various activities were conducted for students class I to X such as singing of patriotic song, drawing, elocution, essay writing, E-card etc., All the students participated and felt the joy of celebrating the Independence day.
