Barcelona, April 22 (IANS) Barcelona’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has said that his team is favourites to win La Liga this football season, given the fact that the Catalans are leading the standings so far.
After he scored four goals during Barcelona’s glorious 8-0 victory against Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday, Suarez on Thursday expressed his complete confidence that his group will win the remaining four La Liga games, reports Efe.
“But we are the leaders. We are convinced that we can win and we want to win. There is no other option but to win the league. Then, when we win the Copa del Rey we will have a beautiful double to celebrate,” the Uruguayan player said.
On Wednesday Barcelona put an end to their disappointing results and thrashed Deportivo La Coruna to maintain the lead of the table with 79 points, ahead of Atletico Madrid in second place with goal difference.
Barcelona failed to defend their European Champions League title after losing to Atletico in the quarter-finals last week.
