Surprise! Burglars steal valuables worth Rs 4.80 lakh from Udupi Dist Judge’s House

Udupi: In a surprise incident of theft, the house of the district and session Judge was burgled and valuables worth around Rs 4.80 lakh were stolen.

In the complaint, Shailaja Joshi wife of C M Joshi district and session Judge stated that she resides with her husband at the district and session Judge government quarters at Ajjarkad. On November 28 she wanted to deposit her gold ornaments in the new bank locker from her house. When she went to take the gold from the cupboard, the ornaments were missing. The theft came to light only when she decided to take the ornaments and keep it in the Bank Locker. The theft had taken place between 11 August and 28 November 2019. The total cost of the Gold ornaments are estimated to be Rs 4.80 Lakhs, she said.

As per her complaint, the Udupi town police have registered a case and investigation is on.
